Many dice were thrown and many a soldier has fallen. Many thanks go out to everyone who participated. The Ligonier Library and Toy Soldier Gallery deserve special mention for helping us to host the event and providing us the space to hold it.
Overall we had 16 people in the main tournament and 8 people in our beginners bracket.
1250 results:
Best Overall: Joseph Caoco with his Eldar 75$
Best General: Ron Marshall with his Imperial Guard 45$
Best Appearance: DJ with his Imperial Guard 30$
Worst Dice award goes to Sean Ketrow and his Scout company. Sean actually was in 2nd place for best general but his dice during the last game decided to take a break and he came up with multiple Yahtzee's of ones.
Most Favored Opponent: Josh Litzinger with his Necrons, Battle Missions Book.
Beginners results:
Best Overall: Mark Turner, prize was a box of troops for his army
Best General: Josh Davidson, any one blister for his army
Best Aspiring artist: Otter Baker, any one blister for his army
In a great show of sportsmanship Otter gave his prize to one of his competitors, Tim. Tim was very new to the game and was using some borrowed Space marines for the event. We (Snake Eyes) pitched in and bought Tim an Assault on Black Reach Box set and the Toy Soldier Gallery threw in a nice chaplain to go with it.
Tim, if your reading this, remember two things, "The emperor protects", and "Purge those Xenos scum!"

A Highlands Gathering!!
Come one and come all to a Warhammer 40k event in Ligonier PA!
On 4-24-2010 *(that's April 24th for you foul xenos spawn - you know who are) Club Snake Eyes is teaming up with The Toy Soldier Gallery to bring you a day of gaming for free, that's right, the rock bottom bargain basement price of *Free*.
The event will run from 10 am until 4:30 PM. We are shooting to run a 1250 point 3 round tournament for regular players and a 500 point 3 or 4 rounder (if time permits we'll give players the option to add the extra round) for relative newcomers. Prize support will be provided by Games Workshop. That's right, even though this event is free there will be prizes! It will be held downstairs in the Public Library Basement (which is quite nice, spacious and has plenty of tables) which is right off the center of the town circle.
If we get a decent turnout we will run both tournaments and also a starter "training table" to help teach the basics of the hobby to those who are interested in starting. We reserve the right to combine the two games (we will have spare mini's on hand and advisors for the newer players) so there should be fun for all no matter what.
To get an idea of those coming from the surrounding area we please ask that anyone thinking of attending please e-mail astro-telepathica@atlanticbb.net to let them know so we can get a count of how many tables and how much terrain to bring.
So mark your calender, plan your trip and we'll see you there!!

Apocalypse pictures
Just a few pictures from the battle, more are on the way!
The imperial side won with 6 objectives total, the surviving imperial forces are assumed KIA as the grav hook's power source at Sorensen was destroyed. During the battle daemons breaching the warp caused major havoc among both sides. At one point a single daemon prince took out an Imperial Baneblade, carving it apart with its daemon weapon. The ensuing explosion destroyed multiple buildings and caused many imperial casualties. Of the Eldar, there has been no sign...
A "propa" writeup is on its way...

All,
This Saturday marks the end of the campaign to Save Omegang's citizens from total annihilation or Burn the fields and destroy its cities.
As such there has been much work in gathering the imperial forces for one last stand at the Grav Hook in the capital hive at Sorensen. This structure is the only way off the planet at this time. The impending warp storm has turned the sky a bloody red, lightning storms are causing Vox havoc and preventing any orbital craft from leaving the atmosphere. In the wake of this unforeseen event Imperial forces that have not made their way safely within the cities walls of Sorensen have been given up for dead. The gates are closed...
As for the forces of the Tau, Chaos, Necrons and Orks they have taken this moment to bring up more reinforcements for a final push. They know the only way off of the planet before the storm reaches the system is the Grav Hook.
Rules:
2 Objectives per side
All units count as scoring
1 Stratagem per SIDE, no orbital bombardment or flank march due to

Latest Apocolypse Event
A bit of a late post but we wanted to share. One of our friends, Seth, is being deployed over to the middle east. To see him off we decided to throw him a surprise Apocalypse game.
Everything was going swell up until the last moment when a war-machine tournament was announced it looked like it would push us back a week (and into Jason's deployment).
Fortunately for us we decided to bring everything, the tables and terrain.

Before breaking into sides we gave Jason's ultramarine's a little extra kick for the game:
The forces were Chaos, Orks and Necrons Vs the combined might of the Ultramarines, Blood angels and Eldar. We decided to bring as many superheavies as we could, we ended up with 2 Baneblades, 1 Stormlord, a Necron Pylon, Revenant Titan and Ork Stompa.
The game went quick, explosions all around including some very nasty flank march Ork units. We ended up with a vortex grenade flying around half of the table gobbling up super-heavies. (sorry for lack of pics, we were having a grand time, blowing everything up.
Some good moments: At a certain point the Necrons took control of my Revenant with their stratagem and blew the back out of the storm lord. Revenge was vowed and heres what it looked like. (Hint: it did not end well for the Necron Lord)
