Sci-Fi in the Valley Pictures and Recap!

Thanks to everybody that came out to Sci-Fi in the Valley!
Snake Eyes Gaming ran over 50 demos of Warhammer 40K and Fantasy throughout the weekend.  In addition we had numerous people stop by to look at the display boards, armies, and books we set out.  We brought a TV with Space Marine for the X-Box 360 hooked up and that was in use all weekend.
Thanks again to everyone.  We had a chance to expose lots on new people to Warhammer and we know some of them are now hooked!  Below are some news stories about the weekend featuring Snake Eyes Gaming and then a bunch of pictures of the weekend.  Enjoy!

Sci-Fi in the Valley

Snake Eyes Gaming is headed to Ebensburg for SciFi in the Valley on May 18th - 20th!

What is Sci-Fi in the Valley???
Sci-Fi in the Valley is a new conventional that celebrates all types of Fiction. Despiote the Sci-Fi based name, you can expect to see plenty of Zombies, Comics, Fantasy, Steampunk, and whatever else you would expect at the Con. There will be plenty of artists, actors, and gaming events like Magic and Heroclix. You can find more info here: http://www.scifiinthevalley.com/.

Snake Eyes Gaming will be there to run the following Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Fantasy Battle Events (and remember that all of our events are free to participate in):

o   Friday Night Apocalypse Game – starting at 5 PM we’ll be hosting a massive multi-player Warhammer 40,000 Apocalypse Game so get your Superheavies and Apocalyptic Formations ready.

o   Saturday we’ll have open gaming and demos of both 40K and Fantasy.

o   Sunday we’ll be holding a Rapid Fire 40K tournament.  What is a Rapid Fire Tournament?  Bring a 500 point force consisting of 1 HQ, 1+ Troop, 0-2 Elite, 0-2 Fast Attack and 0-2 Heavy Support (or borrow one of the pre-made 500 point forces we’ll have on hand) and play as many games on our tables at time and space will allow.  We’ll keep track of wins and losses.  At the end of the day one lucky player will walk away with Black Reach.
Throughout the entire weekend we will be holding Demo games of both 40K and Fantasy.
Hope to see you there!

Road Trips

Its that time of year and we have 3 different trips / events coming up that we thought others in the community might want to attend.

April 21st - Berks Spring Assault

This one day tournament is held in Reading, PA and was a great time last year.  In is more of a hobby tournament than a WAAC tournament with not only Best General being considered, there is also Sportsmanship (Yes Heretics can be Good Sportsman), Painting Award and Raffle.  Follow this link for more information:  http://s4.zetaboards.com/NGH/index  .  Its a good group of guys and a lot of people show up to play with about 40 last year and they are planning for 70 this year.  If you are interested in following us, let us know.

May 18th, 19th and 20th - Sci Fi in the Valley Convention

This is the first year for this convention and it will be held in Ebensburg.  We have been asked to demo some tables as well as potentially putting on a tournament on one of the days.  Join us all weekend for games demos, an Apocalypse Game on Friday Night as well as supporting a local convention.  All conventions start off smaller, but with enough people showing up, we can hopefully get more artists next year among other special guests.  For more information, please follow this link:  http://www.scifiinthevalley.com/

July 28th - Games Day 2012 in Chicago

Our big event for the year and the unveiling of the new table.  Some of you have been following the blog and have noticed a lack of updates with regards to the table.  This does not mean we haven't been working, in fact we have been holding our updates to coincide with them being posted on the Games Day North America Facebook page.  So as soon as an update is posted there, it will be posted here as well.  That being said, we are planning our trip to Chicago now.  If you would like to follow us or join us on our trip, please let us know.  We plan on driving out the Thursday before and staying through Sunday and driving back.  If you have never been to a Games Day, what are you waiting for.

Lastly, if the rumors are true and the Chaos Legions Codex is around the corner, I pity all of you non-Khrone Worshippers.  Kharn is waiting....  KILL, MAIM, BURN, KILL, MAIM, BURN.

Warhammer 40k Beginners Tournament Results

Thanks to everyone that came out to participate in the beginners tournament, with a special thanks to Rob and the Legions Games staff.

A whopping fifty players entered and at the end of the day Adam with his Chaos Marines were able to win.  Congratulations Adam! Adam led his renegade force to four victories which earned him the top spot. Honorable mentions go out to Jared S, second place with tau and a 4 way tie for 3rd from Anthony, Zach, Jackson and Forrest. Tie was broken via sportsmanship, congrats Forrest & Anthony C.

Equally important was the Best Sportsman. There were a lot older players helping the younger newer folks and Rob with his Eldar received 10 votes by the other players.

Here's the breakout

Best Beginner: Adam G. with Chaos Space Marines, 72  points
Best Beginner, 2nd: Jared S. with Tau, 71 points
Best Beginner, 3rd: Anthony C with Chaos Space Marines & Forrest with Blood Angels

Best Sportsman: Rob with Eldar
Best Sportsman, 2nd: Sean with Necrons.

We encourage you to leave feedback about the event. If you have any pictures or videos that you'd like to share let us know.
