The Siege of Hive Primaris Begins!

Warsmith Anaxim watched artillery shells detonate against the distant fortifications of Hive Primaris. Memories of the siege of the Emperor's Palace came unbidden back to him. It had been the Sons of Sanguinius defending the walls against him on Terra also. This time the Blood Angels didn't have bastions built by that arrogent fool Dorn to cower behind though. Soon the Warsmith would know the elation of tearing a hole in the hive cities defenses.
"Patience," thought the Iron Warrior. Perturabo taught his sons to exercise patience and let the siege guns do there work.
The concussion wave from the detonation of another massive siege shell wrestled the Astartes from his reverie.
"Patience," he said with a mirthless smile.

Kill Team Results 5-29-2010

Quite the weekend, hope everyone had a good holiday.

The day was bloody one, with armies from all over, Dark Eldar, Tyranids and many Marine Chapters.

Results as follows:
Tied for first: Joe with his Ultramarine 1st Company Terminators & Patrick with his Genestealers lead by a Broodlord

Their last game looked like Space Hulk without the corridors...
Joe walked away with the trophy and the prize was split with each player receiving $40.
Best Sportsman: Anthony with his Black Legion Chosen.
Anthony walked away with Abbadon the Despoiler.

Congrats to all who came, played and had a good time. Thank you to Rob and the Legions' Grots for letting us host the event at your store.

Updated Campaign Board

The Campaign for Nekar Quintus is progressing smoothly, we've added quite a few new tiles and if your looking to join the campaign out at Legions please talk to Mike.

Starting yesterday the campaign has been bumped up to 1000 points, so folks get your games in at that point level if you can.

The Defense of Nekar Quintus

The Battle for Nekar Quintus rages!
The Warmaster's minions have begun the march to Hive Kydonia, the gargantuan capital city of Nekar Quintus. The Blood Angels are fortifying the outer defenses and preparing the Planetary Defense Force for the titanic struggle to come.
In the west the Wolves of Russ are positioning themselves for a devastating counterstrike should the Blood Angels be forced to concede the planets capital. Harald Deathwolf has tenaciously defended Kistan Spaceport and Research Station Klaed.
Orks muster in the northwest although so far no single Warboss has risen to unite the feuding tribes into a proper Waaagh! Neverless they quickly overran the meager defenses of the Weather Control Station and their momentum was only halted by the Planetary Defense Forces.
One certainty hangs above all the death and carnage...

The worst is yet to come.

Highlands Gathering - Results

Many dice were thrown and many a soldier has fallen.  Many thanks go out to everyone who participated.  The Ligonier Library and Toy Soldier Gallery deserve special mention for helping us to host the event and providing us the space to hold it.

Overall we had 16 people in the main tournament and 8 people in our beginners bracket.

1250 results:
Best Overall: Joseph Caoco with his Eldar 75$
Best General: Ron Marshall with his Imperial Guard 45$
Best Appearance: DJ with his Imperial Guard 30$

Worst Dice award goes to Sean Ketrow and his Scout company.  Sean actually was in 2nd place for best general but his dice during the last game decided to take a break and he came up with multiple Yahtzee's of ones.

Most Favored Opponent: Josh Litzinger with his Necrons, Battle Missions Book.

Beginners results:
Best Overall: Mark Turner, prize was a box of troops for his army
Best General: Josh Davidson, any one blister for his army
Best Aspiring artist: Otter Baker, any one blister for his army

In a great show of sportsmanship Otter gave his prize to one of his competitors, Tim.  Tim was very new to the game and was using some borrowed Space marines for the event.  We (Snake Eyes) pitched in and bought Tim an Assault on Black Reach Box set and the Toy Soldier Gallery threw in a nice chaplain to go with it.

Tim, if your reading this, remember two things, "The emperor protects", and "Purge those Xenos scum!"

A Highlands Gathering!!

Come one and come all to a Warhammer 40k event in Ligonier PA!
On 4-24-2010 *(that's April 24th for you foul xenos spawn - you know who are) Club Snake Eyes is teaming up with The Toy Soldier Gallery to bring you a day of gaming for free, that's right, the rock bottom bargain basement price of *Free*.

The event will run from 10 am until 4:30 PM. We are shooting to run a 1250 point 3 round tournament for regular players and a 500 point 3 or 4 rounder (if time permits we'll give players the option to add the extra round) for relative newcomers. Prize support will be provided by Games Workshop. That's right, even though this event is free there will be prizes! It will be held downstairs in the Public Library Basement (which is quite nice, spacious and has plenty of tables) which is right off the center of the town circle.

If we get a decent turnout we will run both tournaments and also a starter "training table" to help teach the basics of the hobby to those who are interested in starting. We reserve the right to combine the two games (we will have spare mini's on hand and advisors for the newer players) so there should be fun for all no matter what.
To get an idea of those coming from the surrounding area we please ask that anyone thinking of attending please e-mail astro-telepathica@atlanticbb.net to let them know so we can get a count of how many tables and how much terrain to bring.

So mark your calender, plan your trip and we'll see you there!!
