Every Fall between 35-50 players gather at Legions Games in Pittsburgh to test their mettle against one another for three rounds of Warhammer 40,000. At the end of the day one participant will have earned the right to hoist the Steel City Sword and claim the title of Champion until next year.
The Steel City Showdown is Western Pennsylvania’s biggest
Warhammer 40,000 tournament of the year. We always try to
do something special for the participants – in previous years we’ve had random prizes
or raffles. A tournament packet containing
all of the rules, guidelines, and scoring system will be available at the
bottom of this post in the weeks leading up to the event. Similarly, the missions for the tournament
will be made available prior to the tournament.
There is no time for peace.
No respite. No forgiveness. There is only WAR.

Just checking that both the DKoK regiments are good. The Assault is IA12 (have book) and the Siege is printable from FW's website.

Yes, both are useable. Glad to hear that you're going to come Adam.
ReplyDeleteThanks,
Mike
Are ForgeWorld Crisis Suit variants for the Tau allowed? I can bring in print out's for their rules (IA3 2nd Edition). I'd only be using one suit from it.
ReplyDeleteYes, the Crisis Battlesuit variants are permitted. Nice to see someone bringing Tau. Someone at Legions just mentioned to me on Wednesday that they hoped to see more Tau at the Steel City Showdown.
ReplyDeleteI will be there with Tau, as always.

Will the new inquisition codex be in play for this event?
ReplyDeleteAlso, will you guys be posting up the missions soonish?
Deletei'll be there with my iron hands
ReplyDeleteand is there a way to pre reg to guarantee that i have a spot? wasn't sure how fast the tournament filled up
ReplyDeleteThats a good question abour prereg :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for all of the comments and questions everyone! Let me work my way through them:
ReplyDelete- The Inquisition Codex is legal for this tournament. As are all Codices and supplements released on or prior to Saturday, November 30th.
- The missions are nearly done. I had hoped to have them finished and posted today but the work gods interfered with my plan. I will have them done tomorrow and they should be up tomorrow evening.
- Legions is an enormous venue so luckily there is no need to pre-register. We have previously fit 61 people with tables and terrain to spare, so even if we break that record we should be good.
Thanks for the interest everyone. I will check back at least twice a day from now through Friday in case there are anymore questions.
Sweet! I'm looking forward to bringing my Sentinels of Terra to the event. I have been painting like a mad man this past month to try and get them ready for the table. As long as you guys stand back 3 feet they look passable :)
ReplyDeleteRules and Missions are posted. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI have a couple questions related to Mission 1:
ReplyDeleteAm I reading it correctly that if one of my elite units gets killed that I gain +1 bonus point?
If my opponent has fewer than 10 total units, is it possible to score a massacre by killing all of his things?
Thanks!
Thanks for the questions phobia, here are some answers:
ReplyDelete- That is correct. If one of your Elite units is destroyed you get +1 bonus point. Khorne cares not from whence the blood comes, just so long as it flows.
- If you table your opponent in ANY of the 3 missions then you will receive a Massacre result. As the tournament rules say though, you do not automatically receive all bonus points. You only receive the bonus points that you achieved.
Are remora drones legal?
ReplyDeleteRemora Drones are permitted. Thanks for asking.
